Year 3

From September 2017

KEY STAGE 2 (YEAR 3 - 6)

In KS2 children are encouraged to become increasingly independent in their learning and to take responsibility for self-organisation. They learn study skills such as memory skills and revision techniques to aid their independence, consolidating and building on prior learning. In addition pupils are taught higher order thinking skills like how to apply what they've learnt across subjects and to real life as well as how to analyse, evaluate and think creatively.

Pupils are taught in ability groups in maths, science and English in years 5 and 6. We expect high standards of attainment in the KS2 SATs beyond national expectations for all pupils.
